After finishing a very successful regular season, going 14-1 overall and undefeated in ISL play, the Belmont Hill lacrosse team took care of business in the playoffs and secured the ISL Championship with a decisive 19-6 win against Middlesex on Sunday. The win on Sunday marked Belmont Hill’s first official ISL championship since 2017, and their league-leading 14th overall. This came after two hard-fought wins against Thayer and Roxbury Latin, 13-11 and 13-8, respectively. During the regular season, the team pulled out some great wins against top teams like Deerfield, Nobles, and St. Sebastian’s. They finished ranked #10 on USA Lacrosse Magazine’s National High School Rankings and #17 on Inside Lacrosse’s National High School Rankings. Since 2021, Belmont Hill has gone a combined 58-7 and is undefeated in regular-season ISL play. Although a small team this year, Belmont Hill was solid in every category. Another reason for the success was the great leadership from senior captains Finn Fox, Declan Reilly, and Will Stewart. Concluding the championship win, Coach Sullivan stated, “These guys played for each other, and our mantra has always been “it’s about us.”’ The Panel would like to congratulate the Belmont Hill lacrosse team on their spectacular season and wishes the seniors who are continuing to play lacrosse in college good luck!
