The exciting 2024 tennis season ended with a final record of 10 wins and 6 losses. The season started out rough with a loss to Roxbury Latin, but soon the team was able to pick up steam and defeat Groton. During the highly competitive match, Ethan Sidman, Carver Porter, and Aidan Lee won their matches to clinch a 5-2 victory for BH. The day after the victory, the team faced Middlesex, a team that had improved a lot over the past year. Sadly, this led to a loss for BH in a close 4-3 battle. On May 18, BH was seeded last in an 8-team bracket at New Englands. The team’s first match was against top-seeded Roxbury Latin. Unfortunately, after many long and hard-fought matches, RL was victorious. Even without trophies, the season ended on a high note with wins against Brooks and BB&N. Coach Speer reflected, “I’m happy with how this year’s team stepped up after graduating three seniors last year. This year’s seniors were terrific leaders, and we have a strong core of younger players to lead the team into the future.” The Panel thanks the three graduating seniors for their tremendous contributions to the tennis team and wishes them the best of luck in college. Congratulations to the Belmont Hill varsity tennis team on a successful season, and good luck to them for their 2025 season!
