Cross Country Recap

The Belmont Hill varsity cross country time has consistently been one of the top programs in the ISL under the leadership of Coach Trautz, placing 2nd in the ISL in the 2022 season and 3rd last year in 2023. This year was no exception; so far (as of October 25th) the team has had another impressive season with a record of 11-2. The team took two very tight losses fairly early in the season to Tabor and Roxbury Latin, but has gone undefeated since then in dominant fashion, including beating Nobles, the returning ISL champions. This begs the question: What are the chances the team will be able to capture the ISL title at the championship race in Wrentham on November 1st? When asked about his chances, team captain Davis Woolbert ’25 responded, “I think we have a very good chance. We all need to go out there and run good races but a win is definitely in the cards at ISLs.” Apart from the team race, sophomore Will Trautz ’27 also has a good chance to capture the individual title. Will has had an outstanding undefeated season so far and will likely be the favorite to win going into the championship race. In conclusion, the Belmont Hill Cross Country team has had a great season going into the championship race and has a legitimate shot at capturing both the individual and team titles. The Panel wishes the Belmont Hill Cross Country team the best of luck for the rest of the season.
