Winning the ISL Championship, the Belmont Hill Varsity Squash team finished up a great season with a record of 13-1 in the regular season. In addition, they placed 8th in Division 1 of High School Nationals while also accomplishing a 4th place finish in New England Squash Boys Team Championships, after a hard-fought win over Avon Old Farms.
Commenting on the squad, Coach Brownell said, “The boys gave it their all this season. They all showed exceptional work ethic every day in practice and it paid off.” Co-Captain Jack Winston ’20 stated, “We showed great effort against some of the best teams in the country and I could not have been any prouder of our season.” The other co-captain Andrew Lee ’20 said, “Our new assistant coach, Gary Garagan was a great addition to the team. I could not have asked for a better team.”
Although our captains and senior veterans, such as Brahm Agnihotri ’20 and Chetan Shukla ’20, will be departing, the team hopes to be a formidable squad next season. We hope to defend our title for many years to come.
