On January 6th, five Belmont Hill Alumni wrestled at the Franklin and Marshall School Invitational in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The five represented three different Division I wrestling schools and competed in four different weight classes, and all the wrestlers enjoyed the opportunity to compete against some of their former classmates.
Luca Pontone ‘19 represented Princeton in the 165 lb weight class, Harrison Shapiro ‘20 wrestled for Franklin and Marshall at 197 lbs, and Jimmy Harrington ‘22, Matt Smith ‘19, and Daniel Bittner ‘22 wrestled for Harvard at 149 lbs, 157 lbs, and 197 lbs respectively. Though the group had a few losses against tough competition, the wrestlers managed to score a few wins. Notably, Jimmy Harrington ended the day with a winning record of 3-2.
While the BH community looks forward to seeing more of these athletes, this gathering of so many alums at such a high level of competition serves as a reminder of how strong the Belmont Hill athletic program and brotherhood is even after graduation!
