Hunter Biden Finds Himself in Hot Water Yet Again

Yet again, Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden, current president of the United States, is in the news. The 53-year-old is facing new charges in a case led by David Weiss, a prosecutor for the state of Delaware, who was appointed special counsel by U.S. Attorney General Merrick in August. Marking the first time a sitting president’s son has been indicted. The new indictments are brought forward after a 5-year investigation into Hunter originally created in 2018 to probe into a gun charge. The gun case was recently dropped after a probation agreement fell apart in July. This new special counsel aims to charge Hunter on the aforementioned gun case, but may also charge Hunter with two tax evasion charges to use as further evidence in court.

The tarnishment of the Biden name brings up new questions as to the state of the Democratic Party and how voters will react to Hunter’s nepotism and safety net. Hunter seems to never face the consequences of his drug-fueled antics, corruption, or texts with suspicious Chinese business associates. Meanwhile alleged deals with a Ukrainian gas company where he earned inordinate amounts of money for a job he was unqualified for remain unproven. The president has instead chosen to stand with his son and blame all wrongdoings on addiction, leaving us with many questions as to the intentions of the Biden Administration.

With the 2024 election race starting up, there’s no doubt the GOP will drag Hunter Biden’s name through the rug as a means of debasing his father. When interviewing fFrm IV, student Charlie Maws he said “I don’t think it’s fair to say that Hunter’s actions reflect on President Biden”. Meanwhile, fellow Form IV student Will Achtmeyer thinks quite differently, “Hunter’s off the rails, and his money laundering affected his father” in reference to the money Hunter earned through various shady means, principally his involvement as a member of a Ukranian oil and gas company. What the continued controversy and scandals mean for Belmont Hill and its diverse political perspectives is that the fate of the presidency will once again be up in the air.
