Honk Jr. was the spring musical for the middle school; the play was performed on May 3 in the Kraft Theatre. The musical is inspired by the children’s book The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a duckling who is ridiculed for being different from the others but ends up becoming a beautiful swan. Mr. Conway said, “The musical is full of catchy songs and valuable lessons for our middle school students,” about the musical. The piece was directed by Mr. Conway and Mr. Ojeni. Mr. Patterson was the music director, and Mr. Fulham directed the tech crew. The lead actors for the play were Kyle Ayres ’29 who played Ugly, Suhas Kaniyar ’28 played Bullfrog, Andrew Agular ’28 was Drake, and Tyler Aronoff ’28 played the character Turkey. Many other roles were played by girls from Winsor since Belmont Hill hosted them.
