Rising Seniors Common Application Express Workshop
On Monday, August 20, 2018, and Tuesday, August 21, 2018, members of the Class of 2019 participated in the Common Application Express (CAX) Workshop. Led by college counselors Mrs. Bobo and Mr. Coppedge, the CAX workshop guided the rising seniors through the process of completing their Common Applications, the nearly universal method by which many students apply to colleges. On the first day, students listened to a podcast voiced by Mrs. Bobo, which helped them complete the Profile, Family, Education, Testing, and Activities portions of their CA; Mrs. Bobo and Mr. Coppedge were available to answer any questions. On the second day, students worked one-on-one with the college counselors to edit the rough drafts of their CA essays, which they were required to submit before attending the CAX workshop. Overall, the experience proved worthwhile for all the students involved, giving them a leg up in their college application processes.
