2024 Golf Recap

Following an ISL and their end-of-season tournament, the Belmont Hill golf team aimed to secure another double and win the ISL and Kingman tournament. Led by coaches Doar and Duarte, the team featured a nearly identical squad from last season, apart from one addition, Joey Monahan ’29. The team had an outstanding season even by Belmont Hill standards, achieving an undefeated season with 19 victories and 2 draws. When asked about what made the team so special, Coach Doar replied, “Every player faced a rough patch. Even our best players legitimately struggled. But somebody else always stepped up, and everyone was able to overcome their struggles” The team featured strong leadership, not only from captains C.J. Winchenbaugh ’24 and Aidan Monahan ’24, but the entire team. The players held a genuine love for golf and put in extra time to improve even when it was not required, a fact that coach Doar could not emphasize enough. The hard work paid off, as the team won the Kingman tournament with an astounding five under, the lowest Kingman score ever. Heading into next year, the team hopes to repeat this feat and retain their well-earned trophies. The Panel congratulates the Belmont Hill varsity golf team on a remarkable season and wishes them luck for their 2025 season!
