We are less than one month away from selection Sunday when the madness begins. So far, the 2024-2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball season has excited many fans with the shining stars in Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, and V.J. Edgecombe all putting up amazing performances throughout the year.
Looking towards cutting down the nets at the end of the prestigious tournament, Vegas currently has Auburn winning the championship at +325 odds in front of Duke at +425, with Houston being third at +900. The seeds are starting to fall into place as the season ends and the committee is predicting the first overall seeds to be Auburn, Alabama, Duke, and Florida.
The teams to look out for that might just make a splash come March are Texas Longhorns, St. John’s Red Storm, Marquette Golden Eagles, Creighton Blue Jays, Ole Miss Rebels, and BYU Cougars. All of these teams had made statement wins recently, or shown their worth during the regular season with outstanding records as smaller schools, these underdog teams can stop the big schools in their tracks as we’ve seen in the past with FAU Owls, St. Peter’s Peacocks, and Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Each year there is almost always an upset that touches everyone’s hearts, but also ruins millions of brackets. I personally can not wait for the action to begin on March 18th.
