Putting on the jacket and tie is a true accomplishment. This March, the Belmont Hill admissions team sent out decisions to the 94 students who have earned their spots on the Hill.
Mr. Masiiwa described this year as a “record application year in general.” In every grade, at least 20% more students applied for the same positions that all of you—student readers of The Panel—have worked hard to earn.
Five hundred-three students applied across all grades, 183 of whom applied for Form I. Of those 183, only 60 (32.7%) were accepted. Fifty-four of those boys will be attending Belmont Hill next year—a 90% yield rate. Mr. Masiiwa explained that this is a very impressive statistic.
Eleven students will enter Form II, 17 will begin Form III, and three students will join both Forms IV and V.“It’s like winning the lottery to get in here,” Mr. Masiiwa explained.
