Volume 73 Panel Staff Introduction

Welcome to Volume 73 of The Panel! Hoping to continue the great work done by the staff of Volume 72, Volume 73 is quickly up and running, with the goal of keeping the community connected to everything happening around campus. We are incredibly excited to start this new chapter in this great publication!
The new executive staff is eager to kick off the volume with two issues before the end of the school year. When asked what his main goals were for Volume 73, Editor-in-Chief Alex Laidlaw ’25 replied “to bring back investigative journalism to The Panel.” Laidlaw will be overseeing the entire operation of the newspaper, including writing a letter from the editor for each issue. Moreover, the new Executive Editor of Layout, Design, and Printing, Chris McEvoy ’25, stated that his main focus was to “produce the most professionally-looking newspaper this institution has ever seen.” His primary role will be to put together the final copy of the newspaper before it is sent to the printer. TZ Snail ’26, the Executive Editor of Community Development and Special Initiatives, said that his goal was to “improve readership of The Panel”. Snail will work to find ways to bring The Panel closer to the school community. Lastly, the Executive Editor of Writing and Operations, Jaiden Lee ’26, responded that his main focus was “article quality”. He will be overseeing the writing aspect of the publication. The executive staff is joined by a strong group of section editors, each of whom is excited to help make Volume 73 the best it can be. Brandon Li ’26 is taking over the role of Online Editor and is poised to revamp the online aspect of the newspaper. Adrian Tan ’25, the new Arts Editor, aims to utilize his section to shine light on the talented artists within our community. Brady Paquette ’25, the new Opinions Editor, hopes to use his section to “display both argumentative and respectful articles.” Furthermore, the new News Editor, Jack Ramanathan ’26, hopes to cover more Belmont Hill-related news in his section. Ben Gong ’26, the Sports Editor, wants his section to “allow more members of the community to share their perspectives.” Lastly, Nathan Zhang ’26 will be assuming the role of Visual Media Editor. A new position to The Panel, he plans to expand the graphic aspect of the newspaper, making each issue more visually appealing. The section editors are joined by an excited group of assistant editors, including David Luo ’25 (arts), Will Achtmeyer ’26 (opinions), Bradford Adams ’26 (news), Eli Norden ’26 (news), Will Hennigar ’26 (sports), and Ethan Xie ’26 (online). We hope you are enjoying the first issue of Volume 73 and are excited to keep you all informed and entertained in the coming year!
